New & Updated
The Tinotopia Log is always updated. Gradually, all these older items are being moved into the log archives for the appropriate date.
Updated 5 February 2002:
A hotel review, with pictures.
I have added another page of random photos.  There are currently only three photos on it, but I'm hunting for some more.
The Tino Log is, of course, still regularly updated.

Updated 18 December 2001:
It's too late to order for Christmas, but Tinotopia merchandise is finally available in response to a flood of requests.  I know that you're all just itching to spend money to advertise Tino.

 Updated 14 December 2001:
Phew! A day without Tino is like a day without sunshine.  Tinotopia's been away for a few days due to a computer failure.  You may now start breathing again.
Updated 30  November 2001:
Most of the action here these days is in the Tino Weblog.  Call me lazy; it's just easier to write little snippets, and to pretend that it doesn't matter that they only make the slightest amount of sense, in the log format.

Updated 19 November 2001:
Okay, so I've jumped on the bandwagon about two years late and started a weblog.  There are a lot of things I have to say that don't merit a full complaint or commentary; these small nuggets of wisdom have generally been lost to the ages.  Now, I'll be able to trouble you with even the most minute bits of Tino thought.

Updated 15 November 2001:
I have been consciously resisting using this new & updated page as a weblog; but I have to make an exception in this case.  I have been trying for a few days to write about the airlines, to expand on ideas in my commentary of 26 October.  I find, however, that most of my sentiments have been very well expressed by Mark Steyn, writing in The Spectator.  I recommend that you all read his article there.
As this has become the longest page on the site, I've split it into two. Updates prior to April 2001 can be found here.

Updated 9 November 2001:
Commentary on John Ashcroft's stunningly hypocritical move to bar physician-assisted suicide in Oregon.

Updated 26 October 2001:
Invade, occupy, and rebuild.  And forget about the opinions of the Left, since they're going to complain about any U.S. exist strategy at all.
For the good of the industry and humanity, faltering U.S. airlines should be allowed to die a natural death.

Updated 14 October 2001:
The Austin America conceals its problems!  Plans for the immediate future are detailed.
Another Austin improvisation
I've added this overview page that links to all the Austin information.  There's really no new information on this page, but it's now the best place to start if you're looking for my stories of the Austin.

Updated 11 October 2001:
Continuing activity with the Schlumpfblau Porsche.

Updated 2 October 2001:
I have bought another car.  There are seven pages here about the process of bringing it from Florida to Virginia on the Auto Train.

Updated 25 September 2001:
An account of a few things I did to the Schlumpfblau Porsche.

Updated 18 September 2001:
I apologize for not updating more frequently.  I've been busy in the last month or so, and was lazy for most of the month before that.  I'm hoping to get back to a more regular schedule.
I have nothing to say at this point about the events of 11 September 2001.  I am working up a rant on all the latent American and British left-wing anti-Americanism that has been stirred up recently, but am having a hard time putting it together.  It is too easy to slip into an ad-hominem rant on the subject.
I go back to Friday's every few months to see whether they've yet figured out how to run a restaurant.  Every time, they disappoint me in new and strange ways.
My long-awaited comments on egocentrism.  Upon reflection, egocentrism may not be the best term for what I'm talking about; but I think that's mainly because egocentrism has become unfairly stigmatized.
I have added another car to the fleet.  The car page has been updated to reflect this.

Updated 20 August 2001:
I start repairing the car again, and consider that my childhood nightmares may hold an explanation to why the emotional cost of this project is so high.

Updated 15 August 2001:
Rest assured, Tinotopia is not dead! Tino has been relaxing for most of August, just performing minor updates here and there as necessary.  Look for more exciting Tino content to come your way soon.

Updated 19 July 2001:
Updated with an idea of the modern purpose of marriage, and a suggestion for the reform of the institution.

Updated 18 July 2001:
I have updated this in a minor way, adding a couple of paragraphs about the legal test for insanity.
I'd just like to ask, where the hell are the flying cars?  I mean, here it is the twenty-first century, and I'm still creeping along in traffic on the ground like some kind of schmuck.
How speed bumps suck, and why the version designed in 1953 by Nobel-prize-winning physicist and St. Louis resident Arthur Holly Compton are superior.

 Updated 17 July 2001:
Why conservatives really oppose same-sex marriage; and a review of the historical purpose of marriage.

Updated 9 July 2001:
I have added a recently-discovered photo of the barber shop mentioned on the Jesus Nagar web page.

Updated 4 July 2001:
Wherein I give up on restoring that rust-bucket 912.

Updated 1 July 2001:
A long-delayed update on the progress of the restoration.  I have been storing up a lot of irony and bitterness about this car, though, so it's a long one.

Updated 28 June 2001:
Started out as a little thing about the U.S. national anthem, turned into a jab at Canada. In between, I complain about Congress.

Updated 27 June 2001:
A discussion of insanity, self-preservation, homicide, and war.

Updated 6 June, 2001:
I have updated my account of random pricing at Burger King.  The story just keeps getting better and better.
It's minor, but the design of the 'Slanty T Device' and the Tinotopia banner on the front page have changed.  The background on the banner is obviously from a £20 note; the background on the T is fron the Danish 500 Kroner note.  A review of the various designs that have appeared is available here.

Updated 5 June, 2001:
I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it any more.
A tale of the most surreal morning I've had in a while.

Updated 28 May 2001:
I battle depression and discouragement in my task of bringing this car back to life.

Updated 23 May 2001:
The Internet craze that's sweeping the nation -- in a cheeky Tino version!  Give it a try!  Add your own photos!  See if you can spot Tino!
Dynamic pricing at work!

Updated 14 May 2001:
Several hitherto-undetected flaws in this gem.

Updated 7 May 2001:
Not much to report.  Help identifying the engine is solicited from readers.
Hell in a handbasket.  I encounter staggering incompetence at Suntrust.

Updated 23 April 2001:
Week one of renovation.

Updated 18 April 2001:
My new project.

Updated 16 April 2001:
A series of photographs from 1991.

Updated 15 April 2001:
Concerning a disturbing similarity I've noticed in some book titles.
Also, you might want to take a look at this page, just for a laugh.

Updated 11 April 2001:
Why you should never eat at Fuddrucker's.

Updated 8 April 2001:
I have updated this page with informaton supplied by a reader about where to obtain replacements.
